A 1914-1915 German Imperial Christmas Commemorative Plate
White porcelain, glazed, the central well illustrating an Iron Cross 1914 in black in the centre, framed by a open-ended wreath of laurel leaves in green and red, flanked by flags on either side, the German Imperial flag in black, white and red at the left, the Württemberg flag in black and yellow at the right, each flag with ribbons in the colour of the other tied to their respective flagpoles, the conjoined ribbons of the two tied at the base of the wreath, inscribed "In Treue Fest" above and "1914-15" over "Weltkrieg" below, the lip with six icons, illustrating a train engine pulling a coal car and caboose, two ball and cup toss games, three kegeling pins with ball, a sword with waist belt and Father Christmas carrying a Christmas tree in various colours, the rim trimmed in gold-coloured paint, without maker marks on the base, 190 mm in diameter, free of chipping and crazing, extremely fine.
