A Honour Cross of the World War (1914-1918), also commonly referred to as the Hindenburg Cross; in bronzed metal (magnetic); on loop for suspension; with its exceptionally well preserved period-original combatant’s ribbon; marked with the letter “N” within a triangle, and “B&N” directly underneath it (unidentified maker); measuring 37.55 mm x 37.27 mm. Accompanied by its case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a faux leather (leatherette) exterior; interior of the lid lined with white satin, embossed in black ink “Treue um Treue - von Hindenburg”; with a recessed medal bed; with a partially severed interior fabric hinge cover and a functional exterior paper hinge; measuring 90 mm x 61 mm; extremely fine condition.
