An Honour Cross of the Word War (1914-1918) without swords, also commonly referred to as the Hindenburg Cross; in blackened metal (magnetic); on loop for suspension; with its exceptionally well preserved period-original non-combatant’s ribbon; maker marked “D.S.M.” for “Deschler & Sohn, München” on the reverse; measuring 37.98 mm x 37.82 mm; weighing 13.5 grams. Accompanied by its original case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper with a red textured faux leather (leatherette) exterior; interior of the lid lined with white satin, embossed in black ink “Treue um Treue - von Hindenburg”; with a recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release; intact interior fabric hinge cover; functional external metal hinge; measuring 92 mm x 62 mm; mint condition.
