Bronze gilt with red, white, light blue, dark blue, yellow, green and black enamels, obverse illustrating the Statue of Liberty with the New York skyline behind her, the bow of the ship that brought the students to America immediately to the right with the ship's name "MÜNCHEN" on it, surrounded by the inscription "A.D.A.C. SPORT-u. STUDIENFAHRT 1928 NACH AMERIKA", the American Automobile Association (AAA) and the General German Automobile Club (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club e.V. = ADAC) insignias side-by-side at the base, a stars and stripes banner above flanked by branches of laurel leaves, the tri-colours of the German flag at the bottom, reverse maker marked "DESCHLER & SOHN ABZEICHEN FABRIK MÜNCHEN", die-holes on either side for mounting, 76 mm x 105.3 mm, intact enamels, extremely fine.
