(Hanauer Bürgerwehr Abzeichen). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of a stylized raised swan, above a coat of arms of the city of Hanau, circumscribed by a banner bearing an inscription of “HANAUER BÜRGERWEHR” with a date of “1919”, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal pinback meeting a flattened catch, unmarked, measuring 30.76 mm (w) x 28.20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
