Germany, Weimar Republic. A Marine Brigade of Löwenfeld Cross, I Class, c.1920
A cross paty constructed of bronze, the obverse centre bearing a fouled anchor superimposed on a wreath of half laurel and half oak leaves, a “V.” and an “L.” are at either side of the anchor, the arms are pebbled, the 12 o’clock arm bears “31 Mai” and the 6 o’clock arm bears “1920”, the reverse is plain and bears the number and maker mark “Nr. 317 GES GESCHÜTZT P. KÜST BERLIN C. 19 SEYGELSTR 19. A”, with a vertical pinback with a round wire catch, measuring 40.94 mm, very fine.
