Germany, Weimar Republic. A Saxon First World War Veteran’s Honour Cross
(Ehrenkreuz). Constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central raised Saxon coat of arms, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a crossed sword clasp, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram, the six o’clock arm bearing a date of “1914”, unmarked, measuring 41.84 mm (w) x 45.84 mm (h), weighing 18.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
