A cross pattee of silvered bronze; the obverse consisting of white and black enameled arms, with a central white enameled medallion depicting a black and white enameled Prussian eagle, surrounded by a broad ring of blue enamels, inscribed “Preussens Tapferen Kriegern” (German - Prussia’s Brave Combatants); the reverse with a similar central white enameled medallion, dated “1914-1918”, surrounded by a broad ring of enamels, inscribed “Preussisches Kriegserinnerungskreuz” (German - Prussian War Merit Cross); on a double loop for suspension from a correct replacement ribbon; measuring 38.52 mm (w) x 44.70 mm (h); weighing 17.9 grams; in overall near very fine condition.
