Constructed of silvered and gilded bronze with enamels, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant star, bearing a Maltese Cross with white enameled arms, surrounded by a gilt ring with crossed swords, with a central medallion bearing a raised German soldier, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, with an inscription of “DEUTSCHES FELD-EHREN-ZEICHEN” (“GERMAN FIELD HONOUR BADGE”) along with “HAMBURG 11”, measuring 52.08 mm (w) x 63.28 mm (h), weighing 32.4 grams, some cracking and flecking of enamels evident, otherwise in better than very fine condition.
The large certificate to the Field Honour Badge is unused. Measuring 308 mm (w) x 430 mm (h), presenting light overall creasing, intermittent fraying of the edges, and extensive repair of rips and tears and the reverse, remains better than fair.
