An example of a first and second war German (Bavarian) Red Cross medical staff medal bar grouping, consisting of 1) A Hindenburg Cross “Ehrenkreuz des Weltkriegs 1914/1918”; a bronzed metal (magnetic) cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms of the cross; the obverse inscribed with “1914/1918” within an open-ended laurel wreath; the reverse plain; maker marked with a maker mark; measuring 37.55 mm (w) x 37.47 mm (h); weighing 14.8 grams. 2) A second war DRK (Deutsches Rotes Kreuz/German Red Cross) service medal; two-piece construction; in silvered bronze and and white, and black, and pebbled red enamels; the obverse with a large enameled red cross within a white enameled ring, with a black enameled eagle fastened to the centre clutching a wreath with a mobile swastika in the center; the reverse of the cross lightly textured and inscribed “Für Verdienste um das Deutsche Rote Kreuz/For Service in the German Red Cross”; measuring 38.23 mm in diameter; weighing 16.8 grams. 3) A Red Cross 20-Year Long Service cross; in blackened bronze and red enamels; the obverse consisting of a cross with rounded edges, with a central red cross; the reverse inscribed “Für 20 jährige Dienstzeit”; on loop for suspension; measuring 35.04 mm (w) x 39.11 mm (h); weighing 17.1 grams. 4) A 1914-1918 Bavarian Red Cross Commemorative Medal; in bronzed alloy; on loop for suspension; measuring 27.18 mm (w) x 37.68 mm (h); all mounted to its medal bar via their respective period original ribbons; metal core (magnetic); horizontal pinback; red wool backer; measuring 123 mm (w) x 32 mm (h); in overall very fine condition.
