Germany, Wehrmacht. A Memel Medal & Long Service Medal Bar
(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar featuring three decorations, including a Sudetenland Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a pedestal and Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised date of “1. OKTOBER 1938”, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN VOLK, EIN REICH, EIN FÜHRER” (“ONE PEOPLE, ONE NATION, ONE LEADER”), unmarked, measuring 32.30 mm in diameter, with minor oxidation evident, in overall better than very fine condition; a Return of Memel Commemorative Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse with two raised figures, one of which is clutching a flag and the other a length of broken chain, above a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE HEIMKEHR DES MEMELLANDES 22. MÄRZ 1939” (“IN COMMEMORATION OF THE HOMECOMING OF MEMEL 22 MARCH 1939”), within an oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 32.15 mm in diameter, with some oxidation evident, in overall very fine condition, and; a Wehrmacht 4-Year Long Service Medal, constructed of magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, circumscribed by an inscription of “TREUE DIENSTE IN DER WEHRMACHT” (“FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE WEHRMACHT”), the reverse bearing a central raised number “4”, within a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, unmarked, measuring 30.20 mm in diameter, some oxidation evident, in overall very fine condition; all set on a 90 mm-long zink bar with a black wool reverse liner and horizontal pinback, unmarked, in overall better than very fine condition.
