(Ordensschnalle). A Second War period Wehrmacht medal bar featuring five decorations, including a 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a period original ribbon, measuring 43.70 mm (w) x 47.37 mm (h), in very fine condition; a War Merit Cross, II Class with Swords, constructed of bronze, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a central wreathed date of “1939”, the twelve o’clock arm with an integral loop connecting to a period original ribbon, with crossed swords piercing the centre of the cross, unmarked, measuring 46.98 mm (w) x 46.82 mm (h), in better than very fine condition; an Eastern Front Medal, constructed of zink, the obverse with a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a swastika, the reverse with an inscription of “WINTERSCHLACHT IM OSTEN 1941/42” (“WINTER BATTLE IN THE EAST 1941/42”), topped by a Stahlhelm and stick grenade, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, measuring 35.65 mm (w) x 43.58 mm (h), in very fine condition; a Blue Division Medal, constructed of zink, the obverse with central shields bearing Wehrmacht and Spanish Falange, pierced with a sword, topped by a Stahlhelm (Steel Helmet), with a swastika flanked by laurel branches at the bottom, the reverse with an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLONTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”) above laurel branches, unmarked, measuring 32.51 mm in diameter, in near very fine condition, and; a Romanian Crusade Against Communism Medal, constructed of bronze, the obverse with a leftward-facing female figure circumscribed by an inscription of “ROMÂNIA RECUNOSCĂTOARE” (“ROMANIA IS GRATEFUL”), the reverse with a central hand clutching a sword, with a date of “1941”, on top of a Geneva Cross, circumscribed by an inscription of “CRUCIADA ÎMPOTRIVA COMUNISMULUI” (“CRUSADE AGAINST COMMUNISM”), unmarked, measuring 31.87, in better than very fine condition; all set on a 150 mm-long bar with a horizontal pinback, in near extremely fine condition.
