Accompanied by a photograph of McBain in uniform with his Royal Flying Corps pilot's wings on his left lapel (sepia-toned, cardboard mounted, 100 mm x 137 mm).Footnote: Alexander McDougall McBain was born on October 4, 1890. He served with the Royal Flying Corps during the Great War. When the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service merged to form the Royal Air Force on April 1, 1918, he joined the RAF accordingly. His records are in the National Archives, Reference AIR 76/312/108.
