A Military Medal with MID Group to the 18th Manchester Regiment - Military Medal, George V (10390 SJT: S. FORSTER. 18/MANCH:R.); 1914-15 Star (10390 PTE. S. FORSTER. MANCH. R.); British War Medal (10390 A.W.O. CL. 2. S. FORSTER. MANCH. R.); and Victory Medal (10390 A.W.O. CL. 2. S. FORSTER. MANCH. R.). Naming is officially impressed. Court-mounted with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, plated, edge nicks on the BWM, very fine. Accompanied by his Manchester Regiment Cap Badge (two-piece construction, white metal insignia with a bronze ribbon banner, 45.7 mm x 49.6 mm, intact slider, red felt backer), along with six pages from the National Archives with copies of the Medal Rolls for the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and Victory Medal (naming Forster to all three), his Index Cards and the London Gazette 30312, p. 10025, September 28, 1917 (confirming his award of the Military Medal).    Footnote: Stanley Forster served in the Great War, first as a Private, and later as a Sergeant and Acting Warrant Officer 2nd Class, with the 18th Battalion, Manchester Regiment, entering the French theatre on November 18, 1915. He was Mentioned in Despatches as documented in the London Gazette on June 15, 1916 and was awarded a Military Medal, as documented in the London Gazette 30312, p. 10025 on September 28, 1917. Upon the ceasing of hostilities, he was discharged into Class Z Army Reserve on March 4, 1919 and "liable to recall in the event of a grave national emergency."
