A Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Silver Medal 1837-1897 with Case
Silver, obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of Queen Victoria in her sixtieth year on the throne, surrounded by the inscription "VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESIMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN-MDCCCXCVIII" and engraver marked "T. B." at the base of the bust, reverse illustrating the left-facing bust of the newly crowned young Queen Victoria, with a branch of laurel leaves and the date "1837" at the base, inscribed "LONGI- / -TVDO / DIERVM / IN / DEXTERA / EIVS" to the left and "ET IN / SINISTRA /GLORIA" to the right, 55.7 mm, edge nicks, light contact, better than very fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked with the Victorian crown and dated "1837-1897." on the lid, recessed blue velvet medal bed, light soiling and contact on the exterior, case also better than very fine.
