The book contains 284 pages, printed in black ink, the text and line drawings on a thick off-white paper stock, one colour plate entitled "Private: The Royal Scots, 1742" placed before the title page, with multiple black and white plates inserted at various intervals throughout the book, printed on a white semi-gloss paper stock, plus two fold-out maps placed before the Index (The Low Countries; The Peninsula) on an cream-coloured paper stock, measuring 150 mm (w) x 235 mm (h) x 37 mm (d). It exhibits soiling and discolouration on the edges of the pages, along with spotting on the inside back covers, the contents of the book unaffected. Fine.
