Footnote: 17635 Private Thomas Black, King's Own Scottish Borderers, was killed in action on June 4, 1915 during the Gallipoli campaign and is remembered with honour on the Helles Memorial. The Helles Memorial stands on the tip of the Gallipoli Peninsula. It takes the form of an obelisk over thirty metres high that can be seen by ships passing through the Dardanelles.
