Footnote: Driver Harry Townley served as a Driver (77140) with the Royal Artillery during the First World War, entering the European theatre on January 17, 1915. For his First World War service, he was awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal, as recorded on his Index Card. After the war, he served in the Rank of Private in India with No. 1 Great India Peninsula Railway, Auxiliary Forces India and was awarded the Efficiency Medal with India scroll.
