What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Veteran's First War Pair: 1914-15 Star (1460 PTE. F.T. GRIFFITH. NORTH' N YEO.); and British War Medal (1460 PTE. F.T. GRIFFITH. NORTH' N. YEO.), unmounted, replacement ribbons; Northamptonshire Imperial Yeomanry Cap Badge (three-piece construction, bronze floral insignia, mounted to a silver base, held in place within a bronze frame, voided, measuring 66.3 mm (w) x 54.5 mm (h), both lugs intact); Northamptonshire Yeomanry Cap Badge (in white metal, measuring 48 mm (w) x 35.3 mm (h), both lugs intact); and Northamptonshire Regiment Cap Badge (two-piece construction, bronze ribbon banner, mounted to a white metal base, measuring 47.5 mm (w) x 44.2 mm (h), intact slider). Ranging from better than very fine to extremely fine.

 

Footnote: Private F.T. Griffith (P/5503) was with the Military Mounted Police when he enlisted for service in the First War with the Northamptonshire Yeomanry as a Private (1460). For his service during the war, he was awarded the 1914-15 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal, the first two medals included here, the latter medal having been lost to time.
