An Africa General Service Medal with KENYA clasp, in Silver, rim impressed F 6058 CONST. (R) MBONDOLA NYAMBO, worn on original ribbon, minimal wear, extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The Africa General Service Medal was instituted by King Edward VII, King of England, in 1902 to replace the East and West Africa Medal (1887-1900). There are 3 versions of the Silver Medal which differ by reigning Monarch. Only 1 clasp, “KENYA”, was issued during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The Kenya clasp was awarded for 91 days of service (or 30 days for aircrew) in the Central and Southern Provinces of Kenya and Naivasha, Nakuru and Laikipia Districts, Rift Valley Province, Nairobi Extra-Provincial District and that part of Isiola township between 21 October 1952 and November 17, 1956. The medal was discontinued in 1956.
