Her Majesty's Coast Guard Pair to Commissioned Boatman Hamlin - Baltic Medal; and Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, Victoria (Hy TAMLIN. Cd BOATMn H.M. COAST. Gd 28 Yrs). Naming is officially engraved on the RNLSGCM, the Baltic Medal is un-named. Un-mounted, light contact and edge nicks on the BM, near extremely fine. Accompanied by six pages from the National Archives containing copies of his Service Records. Footnote: Henry Tamlin was born on April 11, 1827 in Millbrook, Cornwall, England. He served aboard HMS Inconstant (October 24, 1846 to December 7, 1850), HMS Cumberland (January 24, 1851 to October 27, 1854), HMS Monarch (October 28, 1854 to June 12, 1858), HMS Impregnable (June 13, 1858 to July 24, 1858), HMS Aleuheim (July 25, 1858 to June 11, 1860), HMS Colossus (June 12 1860 to June 30, 1864), HMS Fred Witt (July 1, 1864 to March 7, 1865) and HMS St. George (beginning in March 8, 1865), finishing his Naval career on June 30, 1875. Tamlin served aboard HMS Monarch in the Baltic Fleet, in 1854 and 1855, earning him the Baltic Medal, for operations against Russia in the Baltic Sea, concurrent with the conflict in the Crimea. He was awarded his Royal Naval Long Service and Good Conduct Medal for twenty-eight years' service with His Majesty's Coast Guard.
