What's a max bid?

United Kingdom. An 1897 Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Medal, in Gold

Instituted in 1897. In 22kt Gold, the obverse features a crowned and veiled left facing Queen Victoria, surrounded by the inscription VICTORIA ANNVM REGNI SEXAGESMVM FELICITER CLAVDIT XX IVN MDCCCXCVII, the reverse features a young Victoria, left facing, with the inscription LONGITVDO DIERVM IN DEXTERA EIVS ET IN SINISTRA GLORIA 1837, measures 55.65mm in diameter, weighs 92.4grams, light scratches to both sides and small knocks to edge, in better than extremely fine condition.

 

Contained in its original case of issue, a red leatherette exterior impressed with a crown and the dates 1837-1897, the interior with a crème coloured silk lid and blue velvet recessed medal bed, hinge and clasp functional, a small section of leatherette missing near hinge, silk strand to lift medal has been detached but is included with case, minor wear, in overall extremely fine condition.
