What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Twenty-Two Percent (22%) of the Hammer Price

WWII Mk.II. Army Helmet - Unit Marked

WWII Mk.II. Army Helmet - Unit Marked - Steel, magnetic, in army green, painted in black with the number "1" on the front and running Saint insignias on each side, right and left facing on their respective sides, covered by a web of army green netting, secured by a thick drawstring on the underside. Inside, steel framed cradle supporting a five-panel leather liner, size marked "5 3/4" and dated "1940" on the rear cradle arm, marked "1 BMI" and dated "1941" on the left underside helmet lip, central rubber crown pad in the dome, webbed chinstrap held in place by riveted loops on either side. Signs of surface rust on the exterior on top and throughout the underside, in very fine condition.   Footnote: Simon Templar is a British fictional character known as The Saint, featured in a long-running series of books by Leslie Charteris published between 1928 and 1963. During the first half of the 1940s, Charteris cast Templar as a willing operative of the American government, fighting Nazi interests in the U.S. during World War II. In the stories, the stick figure mysteriously appeared in various places to indicate that Simon Templar had been there (similar to the way that drawings of Kilroy appeared in various unexpected places during the War). The Saint was a roguish character with a mysterious past who set things to right, while taking a share of the spoils.
