Fabricated from a khaki cotton, with fold down flaps also in khaki cotton bearing eyelets on either side, the flaps supported by a hook and eye system, two rising peaks forming a valley between the two panels, the left side with a ribbon swatch of the North West Canada Medal, issued for the North West Rebellion of 1885, pinned in place to the fold down flap, the impressed outline of a Boer War era South African Constabulary badge clearly visible on the left side towards the front, with two holes for the lugs, the other side with two additional lug holes towards the rear, two silvered brass buttons bearing the General Service coat-of-arms linking the two fold down flaps together at the front, the interior lined in olive green cotton, with traces remaining of a owner's or manufacturer's label that once resided on the right side. The cap measures 280 mm (w) x 110 mm (h), exhibiting light soiling, is without interruptions in the fabrics and is free of mothing. Better than very fine.
