Great Britain; Containing sixteen pages, front cover illustrating the The Most Exalted Order of the Star of India, entitled "CEREMONIAL TO BE OBSERVED AT THE GRAND CHAPTER OF THE MOST EXALTED ORDER OF THE STAR OF INDIA TO BE HELD AT CALCUTTA, ON SATURDAY, THE 1st JANUARY 1876." below, the fourteen pages inside with subtitled sections in red ("Object of the Grand Chapter.", "Formation and Arrangement of Encampment.", "Arrangement of Seats within the Chapter Tent.", "Arrival of Spectators and Members of the Order.", "Grand Procession to the Chapter Tent.", "Opening of the Chapter", "Investiture of Knights Grand Commanders.", "Investiture of Knights Commanders.", "Decoration of Companions of the Order.", "Closing of the Chapter."), the text under each section in black, the last page of text concluding "By Command of His Excellency the GRAND MASTER, C. U. AITCHISON, Secretary, Most Exalted Order of the Star of India.", each page with a white satin finish on the obverse and white cotton finish on the reverse, the back cover reversed, both sides of each page trimmed in a 7 mm wide strip of white satin, printed in red, blue, silver-coloured and gold-coloured inks on the first fifteen pages, the back cover remaining blank, the pages stitched together along the binding edge on the left side, 280 mm x 382 mm, exhibiting fraying on the white satin trim and scattered soiling throughout, better than very fine.
