This book is entitled "FIELD SERVICE POCKET BOOK 1914. (Reprinted with Amendments, 1914).", was "Printed Under the Authority of His Majesty's Stationery Office by Harrison and Sons, 45-47, St. Martin's Lane, W.C." in 1916 and was available for purchase at the time for a cost of "One Shilling". The front cover is inscribed with the owner's name "H H FORD" in pencil. It is illustrated through the use of multiple line drawings throughout, including multiple unbound foldout panels throughout (some of which are in colour), plus a list other military books published on the pink pages, available for purchase by Officers, NCOs and Men. It contains 336 pages printed on a thin paper stock (312 on white, 24 on pink, not including the multiple inserts), the inside front cover designed with a pocket for notes, the manual itself with a semi-hardcover in a water-resistant brown linen, with a tab on the front cover that folds over onto the back cover to protect the pages, measuring 105 mm x 162 mm x 20 mm, the block of interior pages having separated from the cover but remaining intact, lightly soiled on the cover on both sides from active use and storage, with the pages inside remaining unaffected.
