Six Second War Armoured Corps Training Pamphets (1943-1944) - Five Armoured Corps Training Pamphets, 1943-1944 (these pamphlets were issued by the War Office and reprinted in Canada, by permission of the Controller, His Majesty's Stationery Office, four in 1943 and the fifth in 1944. Marked either "RESTRICTED" of "NOT TO BE PUBLISHED", all with the warning "The information given to this document is not to be communicated, either directly or indirectly, to the Press or to any person not authorized to receive it." Included are five pamphlets: 1. "The tactical handling of the Armoured Division and its Components, Military Training Pamphlet No. 41, Part 1, The Tactical Handling of Armoured Divisions" (published August, 1943, stamped on the cover "NO. 1 TRG. A/TANK. BTY. RCA", with eleven chapters, 56 pages plus cover); 2. "The tactical handling of the Armoured Division and its Components, Military Training Pamphlet No. 41, Part 2, The Armoured Regiment" (published April, 1943, with eight chapters, 92 pages plus cover, with some line battle formation drawings); 3. "The tactical handling of the Armoured Division and its Components, Military Training Pamphlet No. 41, Part 3, The Motor Battalion" (published July, 1943, with eighteen chapters, 128 pages plus cover, with some battle formation drawings); 4. "The tactical employment of Armoured Car and Reconnaissance Regiments, Military Training Pamphlet No. 60, Part 1, General principles regarding the tactical employment of reconnaissance units" (published published July, 1943, with thirteen chapters, 16 pages plus cover); and 5. "The tactical employment of Armoured Car and Reconnaissance Regiments, Military Training Pamphlet No. 60, Part 4, The Reconnaissance Regiment" (published April, 1944, with eleven chapters, 32 pages plus cover, printer credit on the back cover "Ottawa, Edmond Cloutier, Printer to the King's Most Excellent Majesty, 1944"), printed in black ink on a newsprint stock, incorporating text, two with line battle formation drawings, plus card stock covers, each is dual-staple bound, 120 mm x 185 mm each, light wear and soilng on the covers from active use); and Canadian Army Infantry Training Manual, 1944 (entitled "INFANTRY TRAINING, Part I: THE INFANTRY BATTALION 1944", with a disclaimer below noting "(This part supersedes Military Training Pamphlet N. 39, Part I, 1940)", was issued by the War Office, 15th January, 1944 and was reprinted in Canada in February, 1944, by permission of the Controller, His Majesty's Stationery Office. The cover is marked "RESTRICTED" with an explanation stating "The information given in this document is not to be communicated, either directly or indirectly, to the Press or to any person not authorized to receive it." and is stamped "2nd BATTALION, IRISH REGIMENT OF CANADA". The manual is divided into fourteen sections: Infantry Weapons, Organization, Control, Communications, Intelligence, Movement, Administration, Battalion Tactics, The Approach - Advance Guards, The Attack, The Defence, Outposts and Battle Patrols, The Withdrawal, Patrolling, printed in black ink on a thick newsprint stock, containing 56 pages, light blue card cover printed in red ink, dual-staple bound, punched for a three-ring binder, 120 mm x 183 mm, light soiling on the cover and some pages near the rear). Together, very fine.
