Layaway Policy

What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Two RAF "Airstrip" News Magazines for 238 Squadron; SEAAF - South East Asian Air Force; Both magazines are filled with various news and sports reports, editorials, poems, personal columns and other assorted items. It was published "fortnightly" and purchased at a cost of "4 annas" (a currency formerly used in India). One is identified as Volume 1, Number 2 (dated April 26, 1945, with twenty-two pages, measuring 160 mm x 200 mm and is string-bound), while the other is identified as Volume 1, Number 3 (dated May 28, 1945, with twenty pages, measuring 170 mm x 215 mm and is staple-bound). Both magazines are printed in black ink on a newsprint stock, the former one has been trimmed slightly askew, the latter one with edge wear, both exhibit soiling, fine. Footnote: The RAF Tactical Air Force (Burma) was formed on December 19, 1943 and renamed as the RAF Third Third Tactical Air Force (Third TAF) on December 28th. It was one of three tactical air forces formed by the Royal AirForce during the Second World War. It was made up of squadrons and personnel from the RAF and the air forces of the British Commonwealth. The Third TAF was formed shortly after the establishment of South East Asia Command, to provide close air support to the Fourteenth Army. It was composed of eight Groups, with 229 Group being the transport part of the Tactical Air Force. The RAF squadrons were at one time Nos. 31, 52, 62, 96, 117, 194, 216, 232, 238 (as indicated by these two magazines), 267, 353, 435, 436, 668, 669, 670, 671 and 673.
