What's a max bid?

United Kingdom. A Moeris British General Service Pocket Watch, c.1944

Great Britain; This pocket watch is chrome-plated brass, non-magnetic, functional and weighing 79.4 grams. The white face has bold numerals in black, with a ring above marked with black rules in intervals of sixty minutes and maker marked "MOERIS". It has steel blue hour and minute hands, with luminescent material applied to the hour and minute hands, in addition to the nine of the twelve minute positions, along with the numbers "3", "9" and "12". The "5" and "7" positions are partly obscured, in addition to the "6" position being totally obscured, by the inset second hand clock with a steel blue secondhand, marked "SWISS MADE" and covered by an acrylic crystal. The reverse exterior cover is marked with the British Broad Arrow acceptance mark, "G.S.T.P." (General Service Time Piece) and marked "M19491". The inside of the reverse exterior cover is number impressed "2706299" and when removed, exposes the inner works of the watch. The inside works is marked on a bar with an "F" over an "A" vs. an "S" over an "R" flanking a downward pointing arrow and is additionally marked in five locations: "19H" within an oval, marked "ADJUSTED", maker marked "MOERIS", marked "SWISS MADE" and "15 JEWELS". It also comes with a reeded brass ball finial stem and a copper ring suspension, measuring 51 mm (w) x 61.5 mm (h) inclusive of its stem x 14 mm (d). It exhibits extensive chrome wear on the side panel, the hour and minute hands missing some of their luminescent material, with the luminescent points designating the 1, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 positions having worn off. The acrylic crystal has very light contact, the watch itself free of rust. Very fine.
