(Silver). Victorian. In lovely openwork silver, a base with four feet in beautiful scroll patterns, with two small handles on each side, a delicately carved openwork removable inset lid, marked on the side with an engraved crowned M, the lid and base are both marked with the British silver mark, Sheffield city mark, HW & Co maker mark denoting Henry Wilkinson & Co, and I date mark denoting 1852, with a duty mark of Queen Victoria (1838-1890), the bowl measures 240mm (w – inclusive of handles) x 185mm (h) x 75mm (h), weighs 714.1 grams, oxidation evident, light wear, likely missing silver or glass bowl which would set into base, remains in extremely fine condition.
