Silver gilt with red and blue enamels, unmarked, 63.3 mm x 82.3 mm inclusive of its crown suspension, on a full-length neck ribbon with hook and eye, intact enamels, traces of gilt wear on the reverse, extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, marked "C.B.E." on the cover, marked with the Royal coat-of-arms and maker marked "TOYS, KENNING & SPENCER LTD. LONDON" on the inside lid, lightly soiled recessed medal bed on a raised platform, accompanied by a 63 mm x 127 mm card entitled "INSTRUCTIONS FOR WEARING THE BADGE OF THE THIRD CLASS OF AN ORDER", case also extremely fine.
