Instituted 1899. In silver, full size, officially impressed “Tr. I. Legare, 1st, Quebec. Cav.”, worn on replacement ribbon with FENIAN RAID 1866 clasp, very minor wear, bright, in extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Private Ignace Legare of the Quebec Squadron Cavalry is named in the medal roll for the Canada General Service Medal, with the Fenian Raid 1866 clasp. The Canada General Service Medal was instituted in January 1899 and was awarded to members of Imperial forces and Canadian Militia who fought against Fenian raiders who came north during the aftermath of the American Civil War.
