Footnote: Vincent Henry Goodhand Parker is documented as having been initially in the Royal Field Artillery. He was a Temporary 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery when he was to be transferred to the Royal Flying Corps General List, the announcement appearing in the Supplement to the London Gazette 30344 of Friday, October 19, 1917, on Saturday, October 20, 1917, page 10819. Parker was on the General List of the Royal Flying Corps in the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, and was to be a Lieutenant, effective July 1, 1917, the announcement appearing in the Supplement to the London Gazette 30370 of Tuesday, November 6, 1917, on Wednesday, November 7, 1917, page 11523 and in Flight Magazine of Thursday, November 15, 1917, page 1211. The Royal Naval Air Service merged with the Royal Flying Corps, to form the Royal Air Force on April 1, 1918. Lieutenant Parker served with 65 Squadron during the First World War.
