What's a max bid?

Instituted 1899 by Queen Victoria. A silver medal, obverse portraying the left facing Queen Victoria, the reverse features the figure of victory holding a laurel wreath with troops in the background, the rim is impressed 23396 PTE R. FORBES. 20TY COY IMP. YEO., worn on a straight bar swivel suspension attached to a replacement ribbon with five clasps: SOUTH AFRICA 1902, SOUTH AFRICA 1901, TRANSVAAL, ORANGE FREE STATE, NATAL, weighs 53.1 grams, polished for brightness, minimal wear, in extremely fine condition.

Accompanied by a copy of Forbes’ service record and appearance on medal rolls.

 

Footnote: Robert Forbes enlisted for the Yeoman Infantry at the age of 22, on the 29th of January 1901. Prior to enlistment, he was employed as a gardener, in the town of Monifieth, Fofar. He served with the 6th battalion, 20th squadron in the Imperial Yeoman regiment. He was discharged on August 11 1902, at Aldershot.
