Footnote: The Bomber Command Commemorative Medal was produced at behest Air Vice Marshal Donald Bennett following a design competition i "Medal News". The competition was the brainchild of author Alan Cooper campaigning on behalf of Comber Command veterans. The first modal was struck by Lady Harris (the widow of the wartime commander of Bomber Command). It is unofficial.
