In silver, the obverse presents two crossed flags of the White Ensign and the Union Jack with a trident in the middle, surrounded by the inscription TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THOSE WHO FELL THAT DAY, reverse presents a laurel wreath with an interior inscription reading MAY 31, 1916 THE GERMAN FLEET ATTACKED OFF THE COAST OF JUTLAND AND DRIVEN BACK INTO PORT WITH HEAVY LOSS. ADMIRAL SIR JOHN JELLICOE COMMANDER IN CHIEF. VICE ADMIRAL SIR DAVID BEATTY COMMANDING BATTLE CRUISIER FLEET., marked SPINK & SON 1916 at 6 o’clock of reverse, marked SILVER near integral loop, measures 22.45mm (w) x 25.85mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 6.9 grams, light wear, nice patina, overall very fine condition.
