United Kingdom. An Army of India Medal 1803-1826, Dignitary Presentation Specimen
GAWILGHUR, ARGAUM, ASSYE. In silver gilt, measuring 38 mm in diameter inclusive of its silver frame, both sides under convex glass lenses, contact marks evident on the monarch's cheek, the frame exhibiting bruising, the glass lenses free of chips, replacement ribbon, near extremely fine.
Footnote: This gilt encased medal was given to dignitaries in India and encased in glass to retain its gilt.
