DEFENCE OF CHITRAL 1895 (1633 Sepoy Thamman Singh, 14th Bn Infy). Naming is engraved in italic script, inverted. Dark patina, very light contact, original ribbon, near extremely fine. Accompanied by a copy of page 4016 from the London Gazette 25544 of Tuesday, July 16, 1895, confirming Sepoy Thamman on the List of Casualties in Chitral from March 3rd to April 20th, 1895, having suffered a "gunshot wound". He is listed on the Casualty Roll of the 14th (Ferozepore Sikh) Regiment of Bengal Infantry while at Chitral Fort, having been very severely wounded, as the result of a gun shot wound, on March 7, 1895 and died from his wounds twenty-four days later, on March 31st.
