The book begins with a List of Plates, Maps and Plans, Editor's Notes, Compiler's Notes and Foreword, followed by the Casualty Roll for Crimea. The roll is documented under two basic headings: 1. The Army (nine subsections: (i) The Battle of Alma, 20th September 1854; (ii) The First Bombardment of Sebastopol, 17th October 1854, First Battle of Inkermann, 26th October 1854 and Minor Actions; (iii) The Action at Balaklava, 25th October 1854; (iv) The Battle of Inkermann, 5th November 1854; (v) The Assault on the Quarries, 7th June 1855; (vi) The First Attack on the Redan, 18th June 1855; (vii) The Final Attack on the Redan, 8th September 1855; (viii) The Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Final Bombardment of Sebastopol and Minor Actions, 5th November 1854 - 8th September 1855; (ix) The Magazine Explosion at the French Siege Train, 15th November 1855); 2. The book contains 298 pages printed in black ink, one of which is a two-panel fold out, on an off-white paper stock, gold-leafing on the edges of the pages, measuring 215 mm (w) x 303 mm (h) x 25 mm (d), the previous owner's name stamped in black ink on the free end paper of the inside front cover, near extremely fine.
