Mixed lot of British and Canadian Insignia from the First World War, including commemorative medals and a victory coin, including a Christmas card from King George, Queen Mary and Princess Mary, inside a Princess Mary Gift Fund Box.
Footnote: Princess Mary, daughter of King George V, requested that every soldier receive a Christmas present in 1914. The boxes were issued with tobacco, cigarettes, a card from King George, Queen Mary and Princess Mary, and a photo of Princess Mary. Non smokers had their own issued box containing acid tablets, and a writing case with a pencil, paper and envelopes.
