Instituted in 1818. In 18Kt. Gold, with seven white enamelled arms, both centrepieces in Gold with blue enamels, each with painted background and superimposed enamelled figures illustrating St. Michael the Archangel slaying Satan on the obverse and St. George the patron saint of England slaying a dragon on the reverse, measuring 69.9mm (w) x 96.5mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), weighs 76.8 grams (including ribbon), worn on a segment of neck ribbon (missing clasp), minor enamel damage to arms, circa 1900 period manufacture, in overall extremely fine condition.
