In its hardshelled case of issue, the lid marked in gold-coloured ink "C. M. G." (Commander), inside lid in white satin and marked with the King's crown above the maker mark "GARRARD & Co Ltd. / by special appointment / TO HIS MAJESTY THE KING / 24, ALBEMARLE St LONDON / & Dalhousie Sq. Calcutta.", an insert with a raised platform in navy blue felt housing a recessed medal bed, measuring 84.5 mm (w) x 157 mm (h) x 34.5 mm (d), extensive scuffing and wear evident on the exterior, case fine.
