Instituted May 18 1725. Military Division. In 18Kt. Gold, a white enamelled Maltese cross with large ball finials, a lion raising a paw in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features the tri-crown motif surrounded by a red enamel ring inscribed TRIA JUNCTA IN UNO (Three Joined in One), with an exterior green and red enamelled laurel wreath, the military division inscription ICH DIEN (I Serve) on a blue enamelled ribbon is below the wreath on the 6 o’clock arm, the reverse mirrors the obverse, foliage style suspension connects to a suspension ring, marked on the ring denoting WC maker and London manufacture in 1860, measures 46.3mm (w) x 54.9mm (h – inclusive of integral suspension),weighs 30.5 grams, enamels intact, a lovely decoration in extremely fine condition.
