In its cardboard box of issue, marked with the Tudor crown and inscribed "IMPERIAL SERVICE MEDAL" on the lid, extra ribbon enclosed in the box, scuffing and edge wear on the exterior, box very fine. Accompanied by a printout of the London Gazette documenting his award of the medal, along with a small newspaper article.
Footnote: Charles Thomas Cowell was one of fifteen former employees of the Post Office who were presented with the Imperial Service Medal in a ceremony conducted by Postmaster C.W. Heiser. The announcement of the award appeared in the Fifth Supplement to the London Gazette 37353 of Tuesday, November 13, 1945, on Friday, November 16, 1945, page 5596.
