What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, Officer, Military Division, Type II (in silver gilt, measuring 19.5 mm (w) x 23.7 mm (h)); 1914-15 Star (in bronze, measuring 20.2 mm (w) x 24.8 mm (h)); British War Medal (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter); Victory Medal (in bronze gilt, measuring 18.2 mm in diameter); Defence Medal (in silver, measuring 18.5 mm in diameter); War Medal 1939-1945 (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter); and King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Coronation Medal 1937 (in silver, measuring 18 mm in diameter). Mounted to a suspension with swing bar pinback, as worn by the veteran, residue evident in the recessed areas from cleaning on the Star and BWM, light contact, most with original ribbons, near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: Engineer Captain Stanley Francis Heraud, Royal Navy received the OBE for eight years' service at the Chatham Dockyard, from 1938 to 1946. He previously received the MBE for services as Chief Engineer of the Russian Battleship Volga during the Russian Civil War. Heraud was Gazetted for both awards. Before his commission as Mate, he was with the Warrior-class armoured cruiser HMS Achilles when she sank the German raider Leopard in March 1916.
