A Commander, presenting a light blue enamel cross with a gilt central medallion surrounded by a red enamel ring inscribed FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE, the reverse is plain wit the crowned monogram of King George, the cross is surmounted by a crown, measures 62.5mm (w) x 84.8mm (h – inclusive of crown suspension), weighs 45.1 grams including ribbon, worn on a segment of military ribbon of purple with red central stripe, the 12 o’clock bears enamel damage, in near very fine condition.
Contained in its original case of issue, the exterior in a black leatherette marked C.B.E. MILY, the interior presents the maker mark GARRARD & Co in the lid, with a crème coloured recessed velvet medal bed, measures 160mm (w) x 110mm (h) x 27mm (d), light wear to exterior, hinge and clasp functional, remains in very fine condition.
