What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

United Kingdom. Medals and Decorations

Hardcover, red cloth cover, with dust jacket, entitled "Medals and Decorations" by Ian Angus, published in Great Britain by Ward Lock Ltd. of London, first published in the United States of America by St. Martin's Press of New York, N.Y., printed in Spain, copyrighted in 1973. This book is best described as a general reference guide for collectors of the various orders and decorations of the world, through the use of descriptive text and multiple photographs, featuring many of the prominent and well-known awards, even touching on some of the lesser known awards. Also, pins, badges and ribbons are explored, the book accented with key figures and historical events through the use of descriptive narratives and illustrations. It is divided into eleven sections under the headings: The Origin of Medals; British Campaign Medals; Other Campaign Medals; Gallantry Awards; Other Military Medals; Orders of Chivalry; Civil Decorations; Commemorative Medals; Pins and Badges; Medal Ribbons and Embellishments; Collecting Medals and Decorations; and concludes with a two page Index. It gives the would-be collector a good overview, as to what to collect, how to house the collection, along with the proper care of the pieces. The book contains 128 pages, printed in black ink, on a thick off-white paper stock, with four colour plates, two inserted between pages 48-49, the other two between pages 64-65, both printed in full colour on a bright white paper stock, measuring 207 mm (w) x 265 mm (h) x 17 mm (d). There is a personalized and dated inscription on the free end paper at the front, the dust jacket with sunning evident on the spine, along with creasing on the left panel where it wraps around to the inside of the book, however, the pages and cover of the book remain pristine. Near extremely fine.
