Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

United Kingdom. The Naval Long Service Medals

Hardcover, cobalt blue cloth cover, with dust jacket, entitled "The Naval Long Service Medals" by Kenneth Douglas-Morris, copyrighted in 1991 by Captain Kenneth Douglas-Morris, D.L., Royal Navy, London, Privately Printed in 1991, produced by Bourne Press of Bournemouth, ISBN 0 9507971-. As stated on the dust jacket: "The third in his well-researched series on the awards of the Royal Navy, this volume deals with the origin and development of Long Service Medals. The award for the regular service up to 1878 is studied in great detail and complete rolls are given for all the different variants including the Anchor type, Wide Suspender and Narrow Suspender with years on edge type. The second part of the volume deals with the additional Long Service Medals instituted in the present century for award to the various Naval and Marine Reserve organisations and those which were allied to or served the Navy such as the Royal Naval Auxiliary Service and the Board of Trade Rocket Apparatus Volunteers. To aid understanding of detail, the author ends with appendices which show how the various titles of naval rates have changed over the years and how the system of official numbering has been adapted to serve a steadily growing force. Outside of the Victoria Cross, this is probably the most detailed work ever written about a single British award. For students of the Victorian Navy and collectors of naval medals it will be invaluable." It begins with a Table of Contents, followed by a List of Eighteen Illustrations, a List of Seventeen Medal Rolls, a Foreword, an Acknowledgements and eighteen Plates featuring photographs of various medals and documents. It is divided into nineteen categories: Introduction; Introduction of the Anchor Type Naval LS & GC Medal; Anchor Type LS & GC Medal Roll, 1830-1847 - Chronological Sequence; Victorian LS & GC Wide Suspension Medal, 1847-1875; Victorian Naval LS & GC Narrow Suspension Medal; Royal Navy & Royal Marine LS & GC Medals and Bars; Naval Reserves' Long Service Decorations and Medals; Royal Naval Reserve; Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve; Royal Fleet Reserve LS & GC Medal; Royal Naval Auxiliary Sick Berth Reserve LS & GC Medal; Royal Naval Volunteer (Wireless) Reserve LS & GC Medal; Royal Marine Forces Volunteer Reserve & Royal Marines Reserve LS & GC Medal; Royal Marines Reserve Decoration; Royal Naval Auxiliary Service Long Service Medal; Royal Naval Dockyard Police, Hong Kong, Long Service Medal; The Board of Trade Rocket Apparatus Volunteer Long Service Medal; Titles of Rates and Their Status Applicable 1830-1847; Official Numbering Systems. The book contains 324 pages of text and illustrations, printed in black ink, on a satin-finished white paper stock, with a colour plate placed near the front of the book illustrating twenty ribbons, a rosette and a clasp, weighing 1 kilogram, measuring 215 mm (w) x 302 mm (h) x 22 mm (d).
