WWII British Awards to Dachau Deportee - 1939-1945 Star; France and Germany Star; Defence Medal; and War Medal 1939-1945. Un-mounted, original ribbons, extremely fine. Accompanied by their original postmarked cardboard mailing box (addressed to "R. STANLEY, ESQ. / 8, BELSIZE PARK, / LONDON / N.W. 3 / 22081"), his Identification Tags (one round, one octagonal, both stamped "STANLEY R. 13046380" and handwritten with "DACHAU" in pen, tied together via a twine cord) and a letter from the Army Records Office, Hayes, Middlesex (dated October 16, 1973, confirming his service).Footnote: Otto Zwieback made his way to England after being deported from Dachau, Germany in 1938. Once in England, he changed his name to Roger Louis Stanley and enlisted with the Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps on February 6, 1940, and was embodied two days later. He was transferred to the Royal Armoured Corps on December 15, 1943 and after more than two years' service with the RAC, was released to the Army Reserve on February 2, 1946. Stanley was discharged on completion of his engagement on February 10, 1954. One day later, he was allocated to the Army General Reserve on the 11th and remained with them for the next three years, until January 25, 1957.
