Instituted in 1925. A French made decoration, in silver, an eight-point star with clusters of five faceted rays, the obverse medallion features a Latin cross in Gold with a thin black enamel center, surmounted by a crown, the reverse offers a vertical pinback with dual stays, measures 85.4mm (w) x 84.3mm (h), weighs 61.7 grams, small slice to side of gold cross, otherwise in very fine condition.
Footnote: The Order of the Orthodox Crusaders of the Patriarchy of Jerusalem was instituted in 1925. It is not connected to the Greek State, but directly awarded by the Head of the Greek Orthodox Church, kept in the highest consideration and importance. It is awarded to the highest personalities, in recognition of outstanding merits in the defence of Christianity.
